Cleaning & Maintenance

All Atlantis products have been meticulously designed to last a lifetime.

A regular maintenance program will ensure that your bathroom looks and functions at its full potential for many years to come.

Frameless Glass Screens

Cristal Cote is a protective Nano-coating that has been factory applied to Atlantis CristalVision Low Iron Glass (2120 & 2030mm high) and does not require the use of harsh chemicals.

Glass should be wiped/squeegeed down after every use. Using a damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent, simply wipe down glass screens to remove any soap scum and grime. Do not use any rough gritty, highly acidic, alkaline or abrasive cleansers such as Jif, Ajax or cerium oxide as they may damage the coating.

Some areas that have water spotting due to high mineral concentration, a little extra care may be required to avoid deposit build up on the coating.  A solution of white vinegar (1part vinegar to 1 part water) should be sprayed on the glass and allowed to soak for several minutes.  This will dissolve any mineral deposits that have built up on the glass surface.  A damp microfiber cloth should then be used to wipe over the glass. This method is not suitable for acrylic surfaces.

Alternatively we recommend using Cristal Cote glass cleaner and protector to maintain an as new finish.

Standard ‘Green’ Glass (1930mm high) is not treated in any way and should be wiped/squeegeed down after every use.  We recommend using Cristal Cote glass cleaner and protector to maintain an as new finish on ‘green’ glass.

LiberettoStone™

Shower bases, baths, vanities and mirrors

Caring for LiberettoStone

LiberettoStone is a mix of resin and fine stone properties that is cast and polished to create beautiful bathroom pieces.  The Ebony & Ivory collection is a handmade product which has the benefits of stone – easy-to-clean and unparalleled strength.  Due to the manufacturing process and the nature of cast stone the polished surface of a black shower base may appear uneven (white shower bases do not reflect light in the same way), this is normal.  While being durable, LiberettoStone is polish-able in order to remove any small imperfections that may occur during everyday use.

Cleaning Instructions
For everyday cleaning after use, simply wipe with a soft wet cloth to remove any surface dirt.  Your shower base may occasionally require a mildly abrasive product to erase stubborn marks (Autosol is widely available at Repco, SuperCheap and Mitre 10).  Never use petroleum-based products when cleaning.  eg. paint thinners or other solvents, as they may damage the solid surface.  Please note some popular bathroom cleaners can adversely affect the surface, contact Atlantis if you have questions regarding a specific cleaner.

In the unlikely event that your shower base is scratched during the handling or installation Polishing the shower tray will remove any light scratches or imperfections in the surface.

For surface scratches it is recommended that the base be sanded, start by using 800 grit sandpaper, gradually change your grades of sandpaper. Then 1200, 1500, 2000 finishing with a G3 polishing compound.  Deeper scratches start sanding the surface with a 400 grit, 600, 800, 1000, 12000, 1500, 2000 grit sandpaper, finish off using G3 polishing compound.  If you have no access to a buffing wheel hand polishing using a microfiber cloth is possible for minor imperfections.

If you do have a question regarding the surface of your LiberettoStone contact Atlantis and the technical team will be able to discuss this with you.

Hardware

Hinges, Handles and Rollers should be wiped down after every use with a towel to thoroughly dry.  If the hardware is kept clean after every use, it will not collect mineral deposits that require the use of a soap solution.  Allowing water to evaporate on metal will form water deposits. It is important to use a dabbing action to dry metal, not an abrasive rubbing action.  If you are unable to dry the hardware after every use, a weekly cleaning is suggested.  The correct method to be used in cleaning the hardware is a mild soap and warm water mixture.  Using a soft microfibre cloth, proceed to clean the hardware.  After you’ve cleaned the hardware, rinse thoroughly with clean warm water and dry. Never use abrasive cleaners, scrapers or pads.

If for some reason any components become loose, grub screws may be hand tightened using the appropriate size hex key.  Take care not to strip the thread or damage the head.  This could result in no further possible adjustment.

The Foundry Series

The Brass in our Foundry Series range is 100% natural Brass that is not coated or waxed. This means that both Polished Brass and Aged Brass components will patina with use over time, depending on the unique conditions of your bathroom.  Brass products should be cleaned with a soft microfibre cloth, mild soap and water mixture.  If required, Brasso may be used to return brass to it’s polished finish. All other hardware including Matte Black, Gunmetal, Brushed Nickel and Brushed Gold should also be cleaned using a soft microfibre cloth, mild soap and water mixture.  DO NOT use any cleaning products designed to remove tarnish or rust, abrasive bleach or scouring pads. Doing so may adversely affect the surface finish.

Acrylic Products

Shower bases, Wall Liners and pre-finished Easy Niches

We recommend towel drying your acrylic shower after each use, this will remove any surface dirt.  On a weekly basis using a damp microfibre cloth and mild detergent simply wipe down to remove any soap scum and grime.

Easy Clean Waste

Remove waste top, basket and hair catcher if applicable. Clean all associated body parts of hair, soap scum, body fats and mineral deposits.

General Note

Atlantis shower systems are the cutting edge of design with clean lines and minimal fall in the shower base. We recommend after showering any residual water either on the shower base or surface splashes outside the shower be wiped down.

There are many bathroom cleaning products available on the market. Atlantis has not tested all of these products, cleaners containing Non-Ionic and Cationic Surfactants and Citric Acids should be avoided. Chemicals included in cleaning products regularly change. Because of this, Atlantis does not promote the use of specific brands. Many bathroom products may be suitable for cleaning however we do recommend you read instructions on each product and carry out a test in a small inconspicuous area, prior to cleaning the entire surface.
